Buyer's premium:

Here is an incredible piece of Russian diving history. This is a complete and in like new condition Russian twin cylinder double hose air scuba unit, model ABM-1m. Unlike European and American scuba systems, Russian open circuit units are integrated systems. Most components of the apparatus are not interchangeable between models. The unit is fully self contained, without removable first and second stages, tanks or harness. No buoyancy compensation devices are fitting. The units do not include alternate air sources or second stages. All units have a reserve pressure system of various designs. All of these Russian units were developed as twin cylinder apparatus. There is also a AVM-1m first generation Russian open circuit regulator designed after the classic Cousteau two hose regulator.

This twin cylinder and related equipment are kept in the original Russian equipment crate. All other parts associated with the dive dress are separate. In addition, a huge three ring binder of details photos, original documents, manuals, service book, technical manual, and a photographic history of the equipment being discovered in North Vietnam! The original American owner did a painstaking detailed job of documenting not only this rare equipment, but also its discovery and all the documents associated with it.

This unit, serial number 1001, was made in the late 1980s, according to the original Russian documents. It was then sent to North Vietnam, where it was removed from the country in 1996. This ABM-1m was meticulously documented and kept in excellent condition. There is little doubt you will find another example in this condition and as well preserved! The equipment will be shipped in two boxes.
