Nation's Attic 2024 Diving Into History
Lot 179:
This is a rare diver’s knife made by A. Schrader’s Son Company. The vast majority of knives Schrader made were the screw style, synonymous with use by the US Navy, and the Mark V helmet. This friction-style knife was preferred by some commercial divers during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Today a precious few of these made by Schrader exist. This example features a stamp on one side of the blade that says A. SCHRADER’S SON BROOKLYN NY U.S.A. The stainless steel blade shows signs of use from many decades ago. A brown Bakelite handle is intact with brass hardware. The brass guard has 90 stamped into it. Please refer to the photos for the overall condition.
International bidders are advised that some countries do not allow the importation of knives. Nations Attic is not responsible for shipping charges going or coming back if your country’s customs denies delivery. Rejected items can be consigned into a future sale as there are no refunds.
All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping is available; however, no ocean freight will be offered on large items. DHL Express is an option for international shipments under 600 pounds via air. Payment via bank wire for customers outside the USA is required. A shipping quote prior to the auction can be provided by emailing your postal code.
