This is a very nice original United States Navy Mark V diving helmet breastplate. It was made by the A. Schrader’s Son Company, during June of 1942. The serial number on the ID plate is 237A. Schrader would also stamp the serial number on the underside of the four brails. This example has 237A on all four!

The helmet breastplate is in excellent condition with original hardware intact, including brails, 12 wing nuts, four copper shims, neck ring gasket, and safety latch with cotter pin and chain.

If you have a Mark V bonnet, then you know just how hard it is to find a nice Mark V breastplate by itself!

All diving helmets in this auction will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nations Attic. The certificate will have a unique number that will match the number on a tamperproof hologram decal placed inside the helmet. This information will be kept on permanent file at Nations Attic and help ensure the provenance of the helmet and authenticity. The display stand shown in the photos is not included. The option to purchase one after the auction will be provided.
