Iconic diving helmet made by the Advanced Diving Equipment Company. The helmet was invented by George Swindell and became very popular with divers worldwide, hence the common name given to them, the Swindell helmet. Most of the time, these helmets were not ordered with the optional 12 bolt breastplate or as a mixed gas model, this one has both. A quick way to tell if a Swindell is a gas hat versus a more common air model is the color. Orange typically was reserved for gas hats, blue for air hats. The black breastplate gives this helmet a classic look and function. Serial number located on the bottom edge of the bonnet is 763. This helmet was used by a UK diving firm and put away in the original condition as shown in the photos. Please refer to the detailed photos for additional information.

All diving helmets in this auction will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nations Attic. The certificate will have a unique number that will match the number on a tamperproof hologram decal placed inside the helmet. This information will be kept on permanent file at Nations Attic and help ensure the provenance of the helmet and authenticity. The display stand shown in the photos is not included. The option to purchase one after the auction will be provided.
