This large 7inch face plate and port unit came from the family of an old diver who used to convert helmets for abalone diving in the 1950’s and 60’s. It was removed from a Japanese helmet and replaced with a custom-made rectangular face port like the helmet in the photo. The helmet is not part of this auction. Only the face plate and port as shown. Both items are in basically unused condition showing only storage patina. The face plate threads into the port easily and there is no damage to the threads. The glass has no cracks or chips. This is one of the larger of the Japanese face plates. Probably a Yokohama. An unusual find in this complete unused condition.
All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping is available; however, no ocean freight will be offered on large items. DHL Express is an option for international shipments under 600 pounds via air. Payment via bank wire for customers outside the USA is required. A shipping quote prior to the auction can be provided by emailing your postal code. International bidders are advised that some countries do not allow the importation of knives.
