In the world of commercial diving in the 1970s and 1980s, Miller helmets were considered one of the jewels in the industry. Constructed with a solid bronze shell, these helmets have a unique appearance and durability to last forever. Starting in 1982 Ben Miller came out with the 400 series. This series would be made for the remainder of the 20th Century and beyond. This Model 400 free flow helmet is in good condition. The bronze surface shows the typical surface marks, with no large blemishes or issues visible. The neck dam ring is intact with a vintage Neoprene neck dam. The body of the helmet is stamped in multiple spots TOC, short for The Ocean Corporation. Miller is now owned by Kirby Morgan. These vintage bronze helmets are now increasing in value every year as valuable collector items.Carrying a distinguished history of service, this helmet was owned by The Ocean Corporation, where it played a central role in shaping the careers of emerging commercial divers. After its working life, it was transitioned from the training tank to a prominent display in the school’s lobby, serving as an inspiration to students for years. This history will be documented on the included Certificate of Authenticity provided to the winning bidder.All diving helmets in this auction will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nations Attic.
