Blow All Ballast. The Story of the Squalus, by Nat A. Barrows, 1940. The U S Navy salvage of the USS Squalus, where Mark V air helmets converted for use with helium were used. It even has a chapter titled Men in Helium Hats. This salvage operation set up the USN Mark V helmet helium system that was introduced into regular service in WWII and detailed in the 1943 USN Diving Manual. A fantastic story with great photos. Book is very good condition and is a February 1941 seventh printing, 298 pages, b & w photos, ex library in a hard library binding and with a few minor library stampings, library card pocket, a laser copy dust jacket in protective sleeve.All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail.
