This is a rare A.J. Morse & Son Inc underwater flashlight or torch. This piece measures a little over 17 inches long and 1.625 inches in diameter at the lens end. The brass body features an oval AJ Morse & Son ID plate, and a brass ring for attaching to rope, belt, etc. The thick glass lens is intact and free of any cracks. Few of these torches have survived the past hundred years! This piece was recovered alongside the AJ Morse & Son diving helmet, which is also featured in this auction as Lot #87. The helmet and equipment were owned and used by the O.I. Carr Diving Company of Burlington, Vermont.
