Description
One of the most iconic and historic diving helmets from the late 20th Century is the Rat Hat. Designed by Bob Ratcliffe, this fiberglass helmet was prized by divers worldwide. Oceaneering, the company that utilized the Rat Hat was very protective of these helmets and would take all measures necessary to prevent loss of a single helmet.This original unrestored example has certainly been down on a few jobs. As can be seen in the photos, the helmet has all the telltale signs of use, but not abuse. The painted fiberglass body has typical scuffs and scratches, but none are severe. The original Oceaneering International button is still present on the carry handle. An original headliner is present. Fantastic original helmet ready to be enjoyed as is or for restoration. The certificate will have a unique number that will match the number on a tamperproof hologram decal placed inside the helmet.
