During World War 2 there were eight different companies that made and applied their names on US Navy diving knives. Examples from some of these companies are very difficult to find for a variety of reasons. One company that is extremely difficult to find examples from is A. Schrader’s Son. While this company supplied a large number of Mark V helmets and other components, contracts for knives were nearly non-existent for them. This is actually the first Schrader US Navy knife we have ever handled!This knife is in very good original condition with subtle signs of wartime use. The brass sheath features A. Schrader’s Son stamped towards the top. The wood handle shows only superficial signs of age, no cracks. The blade shows slight hints of age but overall appears to have been only lightly used. If you are putting together a full set of US Navy standard dive knives, this is the key one to acquire! International bidders are advised that some countries do not allow the importation of knives.
