This is the classic United States Navy divers knife, commonly used in conjunction with the Mark V helmet. This example was made by Bomar Corporation. The brass sheath is stamped MFD BY BOMAR CORP PITTSBURG PA. Bormar was one of the companies that produced the US Navy diving knife during World War 2. Their contract was relatively small, making their knives more difficult to find. The brass sheath is in good condition with a dark patina. A very old leather belt strap with buckle is intact. The leather strap is still in fine condition. The stainless steel blade is in excellent condition. The wood handle is in good condition with some wood loss at the edge of the base all around. The brass hardware is all in good condition. Please refer to the photos for additional details.
