Nation's Attic Diving Into History 2023
Lot 148:
This is a very nice original World War 2 era Mark V divers knife. During World War Two many manufacturers made this knife for the US Navy. Some of those makers did not apply their name to the knife or brass scabbard, which is the case here. This example without a doubt was in use but also well taken care of. The brass scabbard features a consistent patina. The wood handle is crack free but does have marks and scrapes from use. The stainless steel blade shows signs of saltwater use, but there is no pitting or rusting. Overall, this is an excellent original example, perfect to display next to Mark V or other diving memorabilia.
