Nation's Attic Diving Into History 2023
Lot 11:
This is a usual and rare shallow water diving mask. We have been told it was made by R. B. Comstock circa 1941. This example was possibly used or designed for abalone harvesting. There are no manufacturers names or stamps. The frame is made of heavy cast aluminum. A thick glass lens makes this a very durable mask. The rubber around the frame is still in good flexible condition. The straps are dry and one is about to separate. This one is certainly a cool design worthy of any collection or museum.
