Nations Attic 2026 Diving Into History + More
Lot 148:
Description
This is the classic United States Navy divers’ knife, commonly used in conjunction with the Mark V helmet. This example was made by Diving Equipment & Supply Company, aka DESCO. The brass pommel is stamped DESCO, indicating it was made sometime between 1981 and 1993. All aspects of this knife are in good condition. The blade retains a shine with only minor surface blemishes. The wood handle is solid with only hints of use. The knives’ brass hardware is in wonderful condition. There is a little oxidation on the sheath that can be cleaned off if desired. DESCO knives from this period were made in relatively fewer numbers than other periods, with the stamp located either on the sheath. Please refer to the photos for additional details.
