This is a rare 1970 Mark III Mike Carson or Carson Dive Systems fiberglass diving helmet. This uniquely styled helmet features a bright orange gel coat painted shell. Weighing 25 pounds, a majority of the weight is incorporated into the top back section of the shell. The surface of the helmet features typical small surface imperfections in the paint from careful use. All of the plated hardware is in good original condition. Quite rare is the original Carson Dive Systems decal still present on the top!Carrying a distinguished history of service, this helmet was owned by The Ocean Corporation, where it played a central role in shaping the careers of emerging commercial divers. After its working life, it was transitioned from the training tank to a prominent display in the school’s lobby, serving as an inspiration to students for years. This history will be documented on the included Certificate of Authenticity provided to the winning bidder.All diving helmets in this auction will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nations Attic. The certificate will have a unique number that will match the number on a tamperproof hologram decal placed inside the helmet. This information will be kept on permanent file at Nations Attic and help ensure the provenance of the helmet and authenticity.All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail.
