Description

Prisoners of the Deep, 1984 book by David Andersen and Kevon Andersen on the Chino State Prison Diving program, created by Leonard Greenstone that produced the lowest inmate recidivism rate ever recorded in the American prison system. Still. The prison training is like a SEAL TEAM BUDS program, but behind bars. The very, very, few inmates who manage to survive and graduate the Chino dive course are often gang member criminals convicted of many serious crimes. Tough guys, – until they sign up for this course and learn a whole new appreciation for the word “tough.” The few that make it to graduation are known in the commercial diving trade as “Chino Hands.” This is a very, scarce book on the commercial diving industry with only one 1984 printing. Many divers know of the Chino Hands and may have worked with them, but only a few will have probably heard of, or have even seen a copy, of this book. Like new condition. Soft bound, 150 pages, with b&w photos. All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping is available; however, no ocean freight will be offered on large items. Payment via bank wire for customers outside the USA is required.
